Symbol: tree deliberately deciduous so the leaves can be shed, just like lush springtime policies that will have been shed and forgotten by the autumn. Roots weak, shallow, insipid, built on air, lack of gumption, little to nourish it, strangely blue a different colour from the foliage, denoting the archaic nobility of the old paternalist (class rooted and arrogant but at least socially minded) One Nation Tories (branded Wets by Thatcher) languishing flattened beneath the new breed of morally vacuous, intellectually lightweight, rapacious predators in suits waiting to get their noses in the trough
Sign profile: smudge, sign of incoherence, lack of ideological integrity, muddy subterfuge, camouflage, signifies the ability to smear any candidates threatening their grip on power, signifies what they will do to Europe, lack of clarity on our position in the world, daubed in seconds, cobbled together, just like their policies, chaotic sounding just like their ‘big idea’ about Big Society (I’m confused, I thought it didn’t exist?!) a euphemism for every man for himself once they start decimating public services under the guise of ‘social innovation;
Once the election is won by the way this logo will immediately vanish in a puff of smoke to be replaced by a big shiny black top hat, a monocle and a mansion house
I had Grilled Black Cod for lunch today at Cocoro restaurant in Marylebone Lane. It was totally delicious but expensive £13 exclusive of service charge. As least they don’t have a minimum drinks charge like some of the other eateries on that street. Grilled Black Cod is one of my favourite dishes and slightly edges out bacalao a la vizcaina I had at a Basque restaurant in Madrid this past weekend. Just thought I would put that out there…
